Swords Live is a shared view of Swords itself.

A town is understood by many different people and organisations. Residents see one part. Community groups see another. Fingal County Council, the EPA and other public bodies hold information and operate services. Transport operators know their networks. Businesses, schools, planners and researchers each have another view.

Swords Live brings those observations together around the actual places and things they concern — without pretending that any one organisation or group represents the whole place.

That creates a simple progression:

Observe what is happening. Understand how things relate. Develop better ways to act.

The easiest way to understand what that means is from where you're standing.

If you live here

Swords Live is a way to understand and use the place around you.

Check the bus and get to work on time. Find a trail. See what is being built nearby. Look up a tree or local place. Report something that needs attention. Discover history you have walked past for years.

It brings useful parts of Swords together instead of making you hunt for them.

If you're involved in Tidy Towns, a residents' group or a local project

Swords Live is a practical set of tools for noticing, recording and improving the place.

Record an issue, add a photograph or local knowledge and, where appropriate, automatically send a request to Council Operations. Record improvements, connect activity to the actual place where it happened, and build a visible history of what changed.

It helps turn what people notice locally into useful, organised information without asking the community to become one organisation or speak with one voice.

If you run a business, school, club or community organisation

Swords Live helps people and organisations work together around the place they share.

Use the tools to share what you know, connect local places, projects and activity, and make it easier for others to find, understand and contribute to what is happening around you.

Your knowledge remains yours. Swords Live helps connect it to the wider picture.

If you work in Fingal County Council, the EPA, a transport authority or another public body

Swords Live gives you another view of the place you already help understand, manage or serve.

Public information, assets, reports, planning, environmental data and service updates can be seen around the actual places they concern — alongside information from operators, community groups and people on the ground.

It does not replace existing Council or community relationships. It provides a shared, organised layer around Swords itself, making relationships between information easier to see.

If you operate a service such as Swords Express, Dublin Bus or Go-Ahead

Swords Live makes the service you already provide easier for people to see, understand and use.

Stops, routes, live vehicles, departures and journeys come together around the real transport network. A passenger doesn't experience these as separate datasets — they experience one journey through Swords.

The same principle applies to other infrastructure and services: connect the information to the place where people actually experience it.

If you work in planning, property, development, environment or heritage

Swords Live lets you see change in the context of the place itself.

Planning applications, property activity, trees, environmental observations, photographs, history and other evidence can accumulate around the real sites and objects they describe.

That makes it possible to see not only what is happening now, but what happened before, how different things relate, and how the place is changing.

If you work with maps, data, research or digital twins

Swords Live is a live model of a real town.

A bus stop can know its service. A tree can accumulate observations and photographs. A site can carry its planning history. A public issue can retain what was reported, what happened afterwards and where each piece of information came from.

Swords Live can read information from many sides while retaining its source. Real places can therefore accumulate current state, history, evidence and provenance rather than being represented by one organisation's dataset.

Over time, the town develops a memory.
