Pin it, photograph it, send it
It takes less than a minute.
Swoop lets you pin an issue to the exact place on the map, add the useful information and send it to Fingal County Council Operations.
You need Swords Live contributor access to publish. If you do not have it yet, see How to Become a Swoop Contributor.
Open Swoop and tap Add.
Move the map so the crosshairs sit on the exact location of the issue.
You can toggle between satellite and map views if that helps you locate it.
Put the pin on the actual spot, not the nearest junction or landmark.
Add one close photo to show the issue.
Where useful, add a second photo to show the wider context and help someone locate it.
Be respectful when taking photographs. Avoid including people, personally identifiable details or private property where possible.
Never risk your personal safety to take a photo.
Choose the category that best matches the issue.
Current categories include:
Add a note only if it helps.
For example:
Location is off path in bushes.
You do not need to write a long description if the location, category and photographs already make the issue clear.
Accept the T&Cs, then tap Publish.
The Swoop is recorded on the map and the information is sent to Fingal County Council Operations.
You receive a copy by email.
The Council reference is linked back to the Swoop, keeping the place, the request and what happens next connected.
The Swoop remains attached to that location, where further photos, information and updates can be added to its Story.
The exact location is one of the most important pieces of information.
Choose the category that best describes what is there.
If a note is useful, describe what you can observe rather than prescribing what someone should do.
A clear photograph can make the issue much easier to understand.
If the issue is already represented by a Swoop at that place, add useful information or an update to the existing Swoop rather than starting the Story again.
Do not step into traffic, onto a carriageway or into any unsafe location to document an issue.
Nothing on the map is worth risking your safety for.
