How to Become a Swoop Contributor

Report what needs fixing in Swords

Swoop contributors are the people who can create Swoops and add information to them on Swords Live.

Every Swoop sends a request to Fingal County Council Operations, while the Swoop itself remains attached to the place so its Story can continue to build over time.

Why contributor access is required

Swoop contributions concern real places and can generate real requests to Fingal County Council.

That is different from leaving an anonymous comment.

A Swoop contribution therefore carries your name and a verified email address.

Your email is used for verification and contributor updates. It is not published.

The name you provide is the name your contributions appear under.

The place is what is being observed — not the person.

How to become a contributor

There are three steps.

1. Apply

Open Swoop and choose Become Swords Live Contributor.

You will be asked for:

  • Your name
  • Your email address

The name you provide is the name your contributions appear under.

2. Verify your email

A verification link is sent to the email address you provide.

Click the link to confirm the address is yours.

Nothing is reviewed until your email address has been verified, so it is worth doing straight away. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder.

3. Review

Once your email address is verified, your application is reviewed.

You will be contacted when your contributor account is ready.

Approved contributors can self-publish on Swords Live.

What happens to my contributions?

Your contribution stays connected to the place it concerns.

A Swoop can gather photos, information and updates from more than one contributor, while retaining the history of what was added over time.

This means one person can start a Swoop and others can continue to build its Story.
